This is a multi-use table with tons of storage. It was used as a contraption table. Visitors can create a contraption to ring a bell or start a flashing siren. They are encouraged to create their own Rube Goldberg machine. The exhibit tables have locking casters, laminate bases with lots of lockable storage.
The top is maple wood with a center of boat board pegboard so that dowel rods can be used for the contraptions.

Kids observe how magnets can push on each other even when they are not in contact as they manipulate a set of magnetic bumpers to guide a magnetic puck down a ramp towards a goal.
By setting up the bumpers before letting the puck slide down the ramp, kids learn to plan a path based on what their intuition about how magnetic repulsive force increases as the distance between magnets decreases.
Exhibit is on locking casters with a maple trim. The front panel is high pressure laminate. The exhibit comes with a set of magnetic pucks.

Guests can experiment with different angles of the sun and see the shadows that it casts. Place objects in front and see the effect. Arrange two objects at different distances in front of the two lights to see surprising shadow shapes that are produced. There is a setting for low, medium and high shadows. Exhibit includes a 1'6" x 1'6" storage bin. Both pieces are on locking casters.
